How to start a business with purpose and find your definition of success

Cómo emprender con propósito y encontrar tu definición del éxito

In the latest episode of INALA Club Podcast, I had a beautiful and very real conversation with Kari Paredes, founder of Organik, yogi, mother of four, entrepreneur, and a woman who has reinvented herself as many times as necessary. The central theme? How to create a life and business aligned with yourself and find your own definition of success.

From engineer and workaholic to conscious creator

Kari started her career as a food engineer, fully immersed in corporate life. But two key moments shook her: motherhood and the loss of her mother. From there, a deep need was born to know herself, to live more connected with her body, with nature, with the essential. Her path led her to yoga, to self-care, to creating natural products and, without realizing it, to building a brand that today is a reference in conscious wellness in Ecuador.

Organik was born out of a real (and very human) need

It all started with a cream for her baby. Kari realized that there was nothing on the market that she wanted to put on her child's skin. So, with her scientific background and infinite curiosity, she began experimenting with calendula, lavender, and natural oils. And from there, product development began, stemming from a real need.

How yoga impacted her way of entrepreneurship

The practice of yoga was her lifeline after her mother's death, but also her companion in changing her life. Kari states it clearly: yoga is not just a sequence of postures, it is a way of returning to the natural. And that is exactly what she seeks to transmit with her products. From an essential oil to an astrological planner, everything stems from her desire to connect with herself and with others from a real place.

Redefining success: 100% is not always the answer

One of the most powerful parts of the conversation was when Kari talked about her decision to not give 100% to her business (a controversial opinion for many). Not because she doesn't love it, but because she also loves other parts of her life: her children, her partner, and her alone time.

And here comes a great lesson: success is not always being busy or growing fast. True success can be having time to have a coffee with a friend, to breathe, to create something just because you felt like it. And that is also valid.

What no one tells you about entrepreneurship

Crying. Doubting. Not knowing what to do. Kari told us about a very difficult moment she experienced with a partner while she was traveling. Anxiety, insomnia, crying. And how, by letting go of control and trusting, the situation resolved itself. Because sometimes all you can do is that: let go.

If you feel like you are at that point in life where you need to redefine your success, your direction, or simply return to yourself, this episode is that warm hug you needed today.
